Like I do it with the other settings in SD/WU, too. I use userdefinable 
(shell) scripts that get called from within mythtv. Everybody then can decide 
for his own what to do in those scripts. 
So there is nothing distro specific.

X is started automatically all the time. It does not need to be started from 
the script. 

This system would only be used on machines where FE und MBE both run.  If MBE 
and FE are diff'rent machines, the FE would start the MBE using wol (thats 
the current intention).

This special part we just talked about is only in my local tree, did not sent 
it in yet.
