Nope.  wiped settings and things are still interlaced.

however, the different deinterlace engines do result in different 
appearance of the picture.  It's like it's just not doing a very good 
job at deinterlacing (compared to running avidemux2 or mplayer with a 
deinterlace filter on the same video file)
