Personally I think it would be acceptable, to have a two phase scan. In
the first phase you may have to somewhat manually describe which
transponders to search for. In the second phase is scans the
transponder for all the channels it knows about
The first phase will be different for DVB-T|S|C I should think. In the
DVB-T case it would correspond to telling the system either where you
live (to look up in a DB, as per "scan"), or telling it the freq of your
transponder. For DVB-S it would be feeding in the satellite name to
look up on a website, or feeding in the freq, etc details of the bird.
Agree though that once you have your list of transponders then you can
scan for all the channels, without that list it is harder (unless you
already have a channel)
I don't think it is more than a minor hiccup in the general design though?
