Unlikely.

You should step back and try to repro this using the command line tools 
like dvbtune and tzap.  If you can tune at least once to the correct 
channel then likely it is not a myth problem (since it uses basically 
the same code), and try using the cmd line tools (perhaps into mplayer)

There are various bugs with net cards.  Perhaps you have a problem with 
yours.  You could try a more recent kernel, or even a 2.6 kernel if you 
are on 2.4.  Sorry, no special ideas here...

Anyway, play with it a bit and try to isolate the problem a bit more.
