[mythtv] which to install packages or compile?

IMHO, if you plan on ever doing *anything* with the Myth source (compiling a
new Myth module, etc), then build from source to begin with.  The rpms are
not really built with the ability to compile other modules from source in
mind.  Also, building new modules usually requires as they appear (like
mythnews) usually requires a recent CVS grab anyway.  Use pre-packaged
stable releases if you (a) only want the latest stable release & not the
'bleeding edge' or (b) never plan on compiling any aspect of Myth.

Just my 2 cents.
