        I don't think the key overloading is the real problem -- it's
more that the osd->Visible() check is too generic.  A simple example:
if you hit 'I' while watching Live TV, the program info won't come
up while CC text is being displayed.

        Should there be ways to check if specific components of the
OSD are being displayed?
