[mythtv] Nuppelvideo stream question

I've written a small program to play live tv in windows, but I'm having
trouble getting the nuppelvideo files to work. Does the video stream from
live tv include headers, or do I have to put them in myself. Basically I
can't read any file I saved from the stream. The windows nuppelvideo
directshow filters (http://sourceforge.net/projects/dsmyth/) give codec
info in the properties box, but no video player works with it.
