The current XMLTV format can represent that as well, IIRC, though in a 
different format. The new format probably still takes some time - the 
DTD is not yet finished and almost no software has been written yet.

So, it might be a solution to get the popular grabbers use that episode 
numbering in the current format, make MythTV use it and then later when 
the format changes you just need to slightly adapt mythfilldatabase and 
the (grabber, of course).

If you want to go that route at all, that is.
