It looked fine on my system, though I prefer a 4:3 aspect ratio (or
nearly). Actually this is why I chose this resolution...it requires the
same bandwidth as 480x480. My goal is actuallly to sample the card at
720x480 and down-convert to whatever resolution I need, since this is
what I do with mencoder, and am very happy with the results (of course
it also requires more processing power too)
On a slightly different topic, what I'd really like to do is encode with
rtjpeg or perhaps a lossless codec (doesn't NuppelVideo have one of
these?) and do recompression with mpeg4 and more advanced options
(perhaps multi-pass) in the background. I'm just beginning to look at
this, and it looks painful, but I think it would be a neat feature. One
thing at a time though.
