I don't know if it's the same problem or not, but I've been getting
some audio stuttering that is somewaht consistent.  By somewaht
consistent, I mean there are some places in recordings where it always
happens, even on different frontends.  I don't believe it's a
recording or sound driver problem since mplayer plays the recordings
just fine on both systems.
