[mythtv] RedHat 9 + PVR 250 = no sound =(

Can anyone help me?
I can capture video with the "cat /dev/video0 > test.mpg" but it lacks 
sound.  I've made sure that the msp3400.o file is the one from my ivtv 
directory that I built. (i.e. "cp 
/home/mythtv/sources/ivtv/ivtv/driver/msp3400.o 
/lib/modules/2.4.21/kernel/drivers/media/video")

I am using alsa and I can play wav's and oggs just fine.

This is what it looks like when I start mythbackend:
