[mythtv] G200, grabdisplay mode, and mythTV

Hello folks!

I'm trying to get my Matrox G200 working with MythTV, but I've run into the
black screen problem, which I understand is due to the fact that I can't get
"grabdisplay" mode working even in xawtv... It works fine in overlay mode,
however, so I know that hardware is (somewhat) functional.

Distro : RH 7.3
Kernel : custom built 2.4.16 with the matrox_fb drivers built as modules
V4L Matrox drivers : mgavideo 0.1.1b

I have TV-out working, and I can use Xawtv in overlay mode either on my
monitor or TV.

One wildcard parameter : my CPU is only a Celeron 450. I'm trying to get it
working, even if it's underpowered, to see if it's worth my while investing in
a new mobo. My other option was to hack mythTV to not have it use a
ringbuffer, but just act as a digital VCR (ie: not watch live TV thru it).
Frankly, I'm looking for that more so than a complete Tivo replacement. So,
is it possible that my underpowered CPU would prevent grabdisplay mode from
working ?

Any suggestions appreciated !
-Phil
