You make some good points but as Issac has stated, he's not going to 
write support for hardware he doesn't own.

If you really want to see this hardware supported, my advice is to find 
a developer capable of doing the work, and offer to buy or lend them a 
PVR-250. Perhaps even Isaac would change his mind if he was given the 
hardware.
