[mythtv] CVS docs

Does someone have some updated docs on installing from CVS?  The docs 
seem very out of date.  For example, they say to edit settings.txt in 
/usr/local/share/mythtv, but there is no settings.txt there anymore. 
I've been running the 0.7 release, but want to use the CVS version to 
get mythweather.

It seems like 1) the docs are out of date and 2) the setup program is 
now really buggy.  Can't I just have the old text-based version?  The 
new one, although graphical, flashes up the console a lot and seems to 
lockup after step 3.
