Indeed.  Notice also that the PVR250 recorder code appears to want to read large chunks at a time from the card (128K I think?)  This may cause additional latency, expecially if it's an odd multiple of network packet size (unlikely).

I think that a lot of pauses on channel changes could be eeked out if you bear in mind these little latencies here and there.  For example I appear to be able to drop the number of pre-buffer frames quite low when using DVB and this makes a difference
