And note that i have no current plans to use the commercial list for
transcoding.  It is 'dangerous' in that if the auto-commerial-cut code
doesn't work properly, you can't get your video back.  If you really want
to save the space, copying the list is not too challenging; hit 'Z' then
'X' and you're home free (note that 'X' won't do what you want it to
until Ive got the mpeg2 transcoder integrated)..  The mpeg2 transocder
will run through a 1 hour recording in ~1minute, so it doesn't take long
to trim the commercials out.
