I think it should work just fine with DVB, and in fact should provide  
the same major ff/rew improvements for DVB as for HDTV.

Note that for DVB (as well as for HDTV) your old recordings'  
positionmaps in the database are less useful than what new recordings  
will get -- indeed, less useful than no positionmap at all.
