Indeed, hence my suggestion on exec()ing a replacement program that is a 
friendly "please stand by" screen that keeps checking for a backend to 
come back and then re-exec()ing mythfrontend when the frontend is back 
online.  I'll be glad to tackle this as my intro to QT and Myth's codebase.
