Okay,
Here is my 'final' version ofthe transcoding patch. Isaac, I think it is
ready for including if you're interested. If you have any issues with
the it, please let me know. The patch is kind of large(~40kb), but I see
no easy way to modularize it
I have fixed lots of bugs, and cleaned up the interface.
Transcoding can now be enabled from mythfrontend setup (choosing any
number of Transcoders > 0 enables background transcoding). the slider
determines how many parlallel transcoders can be running concurrently
The reencoder has been reimplemented to be able to deal with both nuv and
mpeg inputs (can only write nuv output)
The only thing that is missing from my perspective is the ability to do
processing (deinterlacing/rescaling). This should not be hard to add,
but is not as important to me, so I'm going to hold off on it for a
while.
With the current implementation, adding transcoding to other formats (avi
mpg) should be possible without too much work.
