All of the modern digital cable boxes I have seen have at least a composite
output; some have S-video.

It would not be too difficult to adapt the code to support this, if you are
interested in working on it.  In CVS, the external channel change command is
a set separately for each capture card input, but currently it's ignored for
inputs named "Television".
