 William, ah, so you're using the MariaDB client library (via libqt5sql5)
 with a MySQL server, correct?  That could be at least part of the problem.
 While that combination should be compatible, there could be some corner
 cases that aren't.

 acstadt, do you believe you have the same problem?  Even if it's only
 every 2-3 weeks, that's too often.  It shouldn't happen at all.
