 Before my fixes I could see this clearly in many places as you described.
 The fixes involved resetting in coordinate systems to correct values after
 the resolution change. Now it works perfectly for me in every case. I
 don't really have any chance of fixing it if I cannot reproduce it.

 Perhaps the problem depends on the window manager. What window manager are
 you using?

 I am using XCFE, and all is fine.

 Maybe you could try without a window manager, see this link
 https://code.mythtv.org/trac/ticket/12311#comment:14 , as an experiment to
 see if that changes anything.
