 I'd love to help test this as I have the LCD problem. Trouble is, I'm a
 lowly user running Ubuntu 16.04 with MythTV from the official packages and
 I haven't the faintest idea how to install patches.

 Is there a simple way for me to test this for you or should I leave it to
 those who understand the patching process?
