 I am also affected by this, since doing a double Ubuntu upgrade to 16.04 a
 couple of weeks ago.

 In my case, I'm using my [https://github.com/richardfearn/mythcal mythcal]
 script, and getting the list of upcoming recordings fails with the
 "timestamp out of range" error.

 I will try and figure out what the problem might be as and when I have
 time.
