 I thought master now requires (at least in theory) a C++11 compliant
 compiler, which means (at least) gcc 4.3 (for initial support), and in
 practice, probably 4.8 or greater.  What version compiler are you using?

 It is entirely possible the gcc version auto-detect is failing too, but
 would would be a different bug).
