Comment:

 The whole point of those menu items is to make those actions quick and
 easy by not entering the schedule editor.  If you always want to enter the
 schedule editor, just choose "Edit recording rule".  If that's still too
 much trouble, press EDIT which is bound to the 'e' key to bypass the menu
 and go straight to the editor.
