Comment:

 This bug is still alive and well in .25 running over Ubuntu 12.04.2
 desktop. Have enabled repositories for .25 and updated, but problem
 persists.

 I did discover if you Ctrl+Alt+Right Arrow then Ctrl+Alt+Left Arrow the
 Mythwelcome screen becomes visible.
