Comment:

 warpme, I've attached a patch which should address the deadlock if I
 diagnosed the cause correctly. The patch is against master but it will
 apply on top of vanilla [d3a5b0a].

 Please test and report back if it works or doesn't.

 Please attach another backtrace if it doesn't.
