#10691: UPNP chasing playback (of currently recording programme) doesn't complete
----------------------------------------+----------------------------------
Reporter: Joseph Lord <joseph@…> | Owner: dblain
Type: Bug Report - General | Status: new
     Priority: minor | Milestone: unknown
    Component: MythTV - UPnP | Version: 0.25-fixes
Severity: medium | Keywords: UPNP Chasing

Tested on Sony TV and PS3 (although not recently on PS3). This may be a
UPNP client bug but even if it is a workaround would be nice.

If a recording starts at 1800 and I start watching the recording over UPNP
at 1810 when I reach 10 minutes into the video playback will stop (at the
point in the video where the recording was at when playback started). If
I return from the video playback to the content list and select to play
again I still cannot get past that point in the video.

If I exit the content list and find the same content in another folder
(e.g. by title if I was originally watching from the date folder) I can
now again watch further into the video. If it is now 1822 I can watch
upto 22 minutes into the programme.

I haven't diagnosed investigated the code or the network traffic in this
area and am not even sure that it is actually a bug. I don't know if it
is simple to solve by some simple lies about programme duration/filesize
at the time of initial request or if this could cause major issues in the
event of the user fast-forwarding or skipping beyond the currently
 recorded content.

I'm happy to do some tests on the network and/or editing the code but
would appreciate guidance and direction from someone who does know the
code to point me at the right area and to let me know what is and isn't
worth worrying about and what appropriate behaviour should be in this
area. I can test on Sony TV (2011), Blu-ray (2010) and PS3 if it helps.

This issue dates back to my initial use of MythTV (probably 0.23). I'm
currently using the latest Ubuntu package.
