 And it's quite possible that the problem is invalid records, possibly
 caused by direct DB editing.  map7, please try shutting down all MythTV
 applications (backends/frontends/etc), then running:

  mysql -umythtv -p mythconverg -e 'DELETE FROM settings WHERE value =
 "Language";'

 Then restart the applications, answer the language questions, and see if
 it fixes the issue.
