#9629: Cross Source EIT is needed

-------------------------------------------------+-------------------------
I have recently upgraded my mythtv install and found this 'feature' has
been removed (as part of bug #7672), which has rather hurt my install
(theres only listing data for 5 of the 70 channels now)
I live in New Zealand and use this for two things:
- Providing data for my non DVB tuner, without having to find a 'screen
scraping' system or create some form of hack to pull the data from DVB
convert it to XML and reimport it for the other source.
- And obtaining data about a source which I have to use an IR Blaster to
control. This data is NOT available via an XML feed as all the feeds are
shut down by the provider. However the data is available over DVB, so once
again having a script to pull this off DVB, convert it and then reimport
seems silly.
This is all done by setting the sourceid, and multiplex IDs against the
channels that use the non dvb tuner. This way the DVB card can find the
data, match the networkids and assign the data to all the appropriate
channels at once.
While it may not be a 'supported' way of using it, it was a way to avoid
having to have the DVB device queried twice for data that it needs, as
well as avoiding a complicated setup as currently its all handled within
MythTV which is much nicer than having a third party program to bridge the
gap.
I would like to request this be added back, or an explanation of how to do
the same thing without adding some form of third party thing. (Maybe the
help/description needs to be better worded to cover the original bug)
Alternative option: Bug #2416 provides another idea for doing this,
although I dont know if it would work if the serviceid does not exist at
in the channel table.
PS. git c2c7de48115b6bcdfdf5ecbb661f427705362374 was the change that
removed the option.
