 Also, IMO, the description in #8864 is rather vague and seems to imply
 that the error is sporadic and also doesn't give any clear way to
 replicate the problem - nor does it give any logging information.

 This bug report gives a clear, 100% repeatable way of causing the bug and
 gives documented logging output. This should facilitate both identifying
 the cause of the bug and enable a test to confirm that it has been fixed.
