 Craig - thanks for the logs. Unfortunately I can't see anything useful in
 them and I still can't reproduce the issue here.

 So I'm either going to need someone to produce some backtraces gathered
 while the frontend app is in the 'unresponsive' state or I need some
 packages that are in use and that are producing the issue - preferably of
 known origin with known source version (i.e. vanilla, up-to-date
 fixes/0.24). I have tried the packages from the MythTV for Mac OSX
 sourceforge site but they crash on startup here.
