 Since the osd branch merge I reliably here the first few hundred ms of
 audio from the beginning of the recording before it then seeks to the
 bookmark position.

 This can be a pretty intrusive and jarring glitch. Do we need to start
 decoding and sending audio before seeking to where we want to start? It
 seems like the wrong sequence of events and would make the time between
 playback startup and display of the correct frame slower?
