 I've looked through the forums and seen this crop up in other contexts but
 in this case, both directories in my storage group are on the local
 machine.

 1071_20100322210200.mpg does not exist in any recognized storage group
 directories for this host.

 two directories in the default storage group:

 /media/recordings1/ on /dev/sda2
 /media2/recordings2/ on /dev/sdb1

 mythfrontend records to and plays from /media2/recording2 just fine
 mythweb reports that it cannot locate the file on media2/recordings2 but
 plays from .media/recording1 just fine
