 A similar issue to #7974 has appeared again. I compiled from the
 libmythui-osd branch and when you change themes the frontend gets stuck on
 a black screen again. Restarting the frontend allows the new theme to be
 loaded/window size adjustments to take effect.
 It may or may not also be occuring in trunk, I would have to recompile
 again to test.
 I'm in the process of getting a backtrace for the report.
