 Seems like MythTV blocks all keypresses to other processes. I tried to run
 mplayer from the shell with and without MythTV running in background. With
 MythTV keypresses didn't work and without they did. Seems like before
 starting mplayer MythTV should release some hooks. I'm not familiar with X
 and MythTV though, so can't say for sure. Another detail which may be
 relevant: I didn't start any window manager. Maybe an issue with focus?
