 The resampler breaks playback for me here.  Stuttering and highspeed
 playback suggesting it's being resampled twice.  This is a vanilla ubuntu
 8.10 install with digital sound via usb (default device).  It works fine
 when resampler is disabled.

 I suggest that the resampler defaults to disabled since this will allow
 ''all(?)'' configurations to work out of the box.
