 It's good to know I'm not the only one seeing this :-)

 In my case all channel scanning seems to get stuck intermittently
 (sometimes a channels.conf import will work, in some cases scanning an
 existing transport will work. I've never had a Full Scan (tuned) work for
 me though. Actually it's more like it gets stuck but sometimes works  :)

 scan-s2 works fine, and xine works fine with the resulting channels.conf
 so the hardware/drivers seem to be ok.
