 I should add that the prebuffer pauses occur only when streaming a pre-
 recorded HD show. Watching live HD shows does not cause the problem. The
 prebuffer pauses are very frequent and render the shows unwatchable.
 Switching to NFS essentially eliminates them, but there are still rare
 prebuffer pauses during periods of high network activity (which is why I
 went to "always stream" in the first place).

 These are DVB-recorded shows and are not transcoded, so there should be no
 difference in bitrate between live and prerecorded.
