I am running r16378 on a core 2 Duo @ 2.9Ghz. It had no problem playing
back 1080i mpeg2 content, or 720p/1080p h264 content, but it skips while
playing back 720p mpeg2 content. mplayer plays back the same file
perfectly.
I have a seperate frontend/backend setup. The backend is connected to my
provider's STB over firewire. NFS over gigabit to the frontend, and the
audio is connected to my amp over SPDIF.
I'm concerned that both mythtv and mplayer say that it is an 80mbit mpeg
stream. I tested it with powerdvd and it says it averages about 15mbit,
so maybe the buffering code in mythtv is the issue. It seemed to playback
better when I switched to 1000mbit from 100mbit.
