 Aha, someone found the answer on the mythtv-dev mailing list.
 Apparently, the fixes-branch has a problem with multicore systems, you
 need to execute this command (in stead of regular "mythtv-setup")

 sudo taskset -c 0 mythtv-setup

 How can you compile the trunk with mythtv_multiproto.5.patch, anyway?
