 I experience similar (but not so extreme) growths of memory.
 I us e Terratec Cinergy 1200 DVB-T card with multirec to record three SD
 TV channels 24/7. Recently I started using EIT for soem radio channels
 besides the XMLTV based TV channels.

 I had a small crash of the backend at the empty line.
 I can not reliably run valgrind on the VIA EN12000 board: mythbackend
 gives strange errors and does not run well.
