 I had this same thing happen on my machine (Core 2 Duo x86_64).  Was
 watching live TV, everything was fine for a while, but after a scheduled
 recording completed, a subsequent recording did not occur.  At this point,
 I lost keyboard/remote control, and noticed my memory usage was
 skyrocketing.  I have 4G of RAM.  System at idle, watching live TV,
 mythfrontend normally uses approximately 5.4% of RAM, but at the time this
 was going on, usage was at 51% and climbing rapidly.  I had to kill the
 frontend and bounce the backend to get things to recover.
