Comment:

 Are you still seeing this problem it seems to be working fine for me. The
 changeset you linked to shouldn't affect the downloading in any way. The
 only thing it does do is allows you to chose which player to use. I could
 never get the internal player to work properly so I use mplayer. It uses
 the same default player you chose to use in MythVideo if you have it setup
 or else just uses the internal player as before.
