 Unable to replicate with SVN trunk HEAD.  Probably has been fixed as a
 side-effect of other changes since 0.20, but unless someone knows exactly
 what fixed it or tracks down the specific change to PlaybackBox, then odds
 of it getting back-ported to 0.20 are slim.  If you can provide a gdb
 backtrace from the time when ESCape won't work, it would be helpful.
