 I also have this problem. in the configure under darwin) it explicitly
 disables X11... Enabling it causes a problem when building the
 ScreenSaverX11 file - looks like my QT may not have been build with X11
 support perhaps? http://pastebin.ca/584130

 In any case, it seems that all the sound and video output options are
 being diabled for the darwin builds, and that is consistent with the
 behavior of the ones I build (they launch but do nothing) and the nightly
 builds on sniperpad (they also launch but don't display anything -just a
 menu bar)
