 Been doing some more research and discovered that if I add in the
 following to the device section of the xorg.conf the cpu usage of Xorg
 drops significantly when watcing HDTV recordings

 Option “UseEvents” “True”

 Unfortunately it still doesn't solve the EPG problem, keyboard commands
 still have to 3-4 second delay before being processed. I'm wondering if it
 were possible to disable the preview window, if everything would work just
 fine (I really wouldn't miss the video preview window)
