 danielk - Yikes, my apologies for not getting back to this sooner.

 I did some hunting, and you are right -- it's not that the OpenChrome
 drivers support MC decoding, but that MC capabilities are not required for
 VLD.  I've updated the patch and will attach it below.

 There was also some recent borkage in configure that kept VLD from being
 enabled.  I will also include a patch for that.
