Actually the name of the option is "Fast forward/rewind reposition
amount:". It is in the mythfrontend setup in "Utilities/Setup->Setup->TV
Settings->Playback" on the "Seeking" page. Like I said above, I never
really went down this road though, so I don't know what the
ramifications/benifits if any it will bring. I'm using 2 WinTV PVR-150
cards(most of the above mentioned debugging is with 1 PVR-150). I did
actually purchase a pcHDTV 5500 card to try a digital tuner at one point.
To be honnest wtih you I was very disapointed with it. I had a little bit
of a hard time getting it to work and once I did the quality was bad
compared to my PVR-150. And on top of that, it turns out my cable company
doesn't allow me to get but 1 digital channel without a set top box. I
understand my pcHDTV 5500 card is not the same as your WinTV Nova card,
I'm just conveying my experience with the 1 DVB card I had tried. You may
also want to try looking at the "HD Ringbuffer size (KB):" setting in the
 Utilities/Setup->Setup->General->TV Settings->General section on the
"General(Advanced)" screen. I think that will affect your playback since
you are using a DVB card, but I may be wrong(heck it might still be
affecting me, I don't know). I don't think I ever did find out if the "HD"
meant High Def or Hard Drive. I have mine set to 9400, which I'm sure is
the default, since I stopped messing with this setting when I took the
 pcHDTV card out.

Well there are some more of the things I did durring my 3 months of
chasing this thing. I must say though, it really does seem to be that it
was the mysql settings I mentioned above that fixed my situation. I still
have NOT had any total freezes since I started posting here. I still get
about a 2 or 3 second "pause" at the time mythfilldatabase runs(near the
end of it) but then it starts playing just fine. Normally I'm not watching
TV when mythfilldatabase runs though so thats no big deal for me. At one
point last week, I left my mythtv run in live TV mode for over 48 hours
 with no problems.
